What are your overall feelings about the start of a new year? Are you excited? Nervous? Are you overwhelmed?! (The dreaded O-word).
If you don’t want to feel stuck with your business moving into a new year, here are 5 steps that I take every year when I’m projecting my goals.
I want to teach you how to bring your goals to life through vision casting…
If this seems a little woo-woo, stick with me! Because, I’m telling you, this transformed all areas of my life.
5 Steps to Set Goals through Vision Casting
The problem with most goal setting is that it’s done wrong; it’s not done with intent and focus. If you’re not doing these 5 things, that’s why you’re not hitting your goals.
These 5 steps are what I have been practicing in my life for the last four years. I have learned to master my mindset and set proper goals for myself. So, be sure to write this down.
1. You need a crystal clear picture of the who, what, when, and where.
When you dial in the details of your goals, time expands, reality changes and things come into your life you never thought possible. If you want magical things to happen, you need to get into the details.
2. You need to understand your ‘why’.
You should have a clear understanding of why you want to achieve these goals. Are you trying to retire your spouse? Are you trying to put your kids in a better education system? There should be a personal reason why you’re setting these goals for yourself.
3. You need to visualize.
Make a new vision board every month! You can do a digital or physical one but it should include everything from relationships to travel to personal and professional goals. And everything in between! Only you will understand what it means, so feel free to put anything on it that reminds you of your goals.
Your mind needs a roadmap to where you’re going otherwise you will just focus on what you have today and that’s no help.
4. You need to feel it.
You need to imagine these goals as if they’re already here. When you spend time in alignment with what you want, you attract it that much faster. Your subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference so it does everything it can to make these things come to fruition. Seriously, use all 5 senses and imagine how you would feel if your goals were already achieved.
5. You need repetition.
It’s not enough to write down your goals. That doesn’t hold all of the pieces. You’re not spending the time visualizing and being grateful for it as if it already happened.
When you’re focused more on the day-to-day functionalities of your life, you’re more focused on your reactions. Find an anchor in your day, part of your daily habit, where you can come back to what we talked about today and you can reflect on: what you’re focused on, what’s your vision, why is it important to you, and what it would feel like if it’s already come true.
If you do that every day, you’ll be able to fast-track your results and grow your confidence.
