On your Facebook wall is where most of your warm market is going to be. You do not want to be a creeper or friending the wrong people! I am going to share with you my strategy around building my friends list.
First be pro-active at following people every single day. The natural thing that will happen is people will unfriend you or they just will not be engaging or interacting with your content. You want to be sure to keep that list of friends fresh. You can have 5000 friends maximum on Facebook. Once you get to the 5000 friends you will need to use the follow method for Facebook. With the follow method, you can follow as many people as you want to. I recommend sending no more that 20 requests a day for friends. I have found that if you do more, Facebook thinks you are a bot and it comes across as too aggressive. Plus, if you are friending people you do not have any mutual connection with Facebook will flag you and you do not want to end up in Facebook jail!
Next, go to your Friends list. Here you want to look for your ideal Avatar. First, choose one of your friends. That friend could be a customer or a customer prospect, or you may barely know them, but they are your ideal avatar. Then you will go to their friends list. Look for those that you have several friends in common. Hover over their name and a pop-up will show you a bit about them. From here you can get an idea if this is someone that could potentially be your ideal avatar and then send a friend request. In the video below I show you step by step how to go through this process. Facebook will also suggest people that you have things in common with, so definitely hover over those suggestions to see if they might fall into your ideal avatar bucket. Finally, once they have accepted your friend request, be sure to shoot them a message.
Finally, make this a part of your daily method of operation. Include it in your daily activity tracker and be sure to friend request every single day! You want to constantly be working to get your content in front of more people and the more friends you have the more people are seeing your content! You will find your ability to get more engagement will be higher, your ability to take root at the top of the news feed will be better, and the algorithm is better as well.
Remember to be strategic about who you add as friends. Don’t add friends just for the sake of having more friends. Look for your ideal Avatar!
Until next time! Get LIT in your business and set your soul on fire!
