Recruiting Mistakes to Avoid when Working a Laptop Lifestyle

When it comes to recruiting, do you sometimes feel like no matter what you are doing, you’re just missing the mark?

There are so many pitfalls and ways to fall behind with recruiting and getting in front of prospective customers. Stop making these simple mistakes and connect with more prospects than ever!

Selling before serving…

I see tons of people trying to push their products, services, and every type of their business online which only pushes away your followers instead of attracting them. You want to be shifting how you are showing up on social media. Audit your accounts — how much of your account is talking about your business and not being valuable or providing real-life insights?

Stop cold messaging.

It is not sustainable or successful. You will not have high retention and it is much harder to connect and create meaningful relationships when you are shooting for a relationship that is nonexistent.

Keep it simple, AKA don’t make processes too complicated

If you are making it too complicated for your prospects to learn about your customers and products, they will lose interest and ultimately think they can not make it happen. The process will not be duplicatable and will ultimately be more difficult to connect the customer to your business. Offer value and resources if the need arises, but don’t promote your business by asking the prospect to go out of the way for the process.

Not having a REAL launch plan!

This will kill your confidence. Ultimately, you need to have a plan for every step of the process. A plan beginning with the point of connection, to signing on a new customer, to closing the sale, repeat sales– every step of the way!

You don’t have an awesome team culture.

Unfortunately, mean girls and bad relationships will always exist. If you have a culture where you don’t feel aligned or connected to the business and you can’t be legitimate with your selling, you won’t be recruiting effectively. You want to feel confident that when you are bringing new people on, you are 100% in love with what you are doing!

You are trying to reach too small of an audience.

If you have less than 1,000 people on your friend’s list, your content will not be reaching enough people to consume your content, you are marketing to the same people over and over again. No one will be getting to know YOU! If you aren’t at 1,000 yet— it’s okay, you have to start somewhere and it does not always happen overnight. You got this!

Not being consistent.

This comes with all aspects of your business. If you are not being consistent with following up, social media, connecting with new people, and living, breathing and OWNING what you do, you will not find success.

Keep it authentic and be consistent with recruiting. Own your brand and be confident with recruiting! Remember how to keep it simple and don’t be afraid to share your own passions and insights with new customers.
