Crush Your Business Goals with Value-Based Facebook Groups

Today, we’re diving deep into Facebook groups and the secret sauce to blow it up online! Value-based Facebook groups can completely transform your business and allow you to connect with more customers than before! 

Do you know if you have a value-based or a customer-based group? A mixture of the two?

Customer-based groups consist mainly of posts for selling your product or service. Through the years, Facebook has changed their rules many times. You have to invite your Facebook friends to join, you cannot simply drop them right into the group like before. Facebook introduced the double opt-in which made the user come to the Facebook group and accept the invitation in order to enter the group. 

The difference between the groups is that value-based groups mean the majority of the content has value behind it. It means the content is not promoting any service or products. The customer-based group consists of more posts that are promoting sales and your business. 

Value-based groups trump customer-based groups because users desire reciprocity. If you share additional value or information that was not readily available for the customer, they will find these details to be valuable and look to you for more content. Value-based doesn’t mean you won’t mention your content at all; it’s more like 80-20. Make the majority of the content value-based then sprinkle in mentions of your business throughout the group. By sharing different tips and tricks to better their lives, they will see that the group is informative and worth coming back to! 🙂

Have the group be solution-based! You want to be offering solutions and providing answers to your group members. 

You can always refresh your group and change the focus of your content! Don’t be afraid to delete old posts that seem salesy or don’t match your current brand. Find how to best serve your audience and show up for them by providing information and tips relevant to what they care about. 

If you feel that your groups mainly run as customer-based groups, consider starting an additional Facebook group that is value-based. Take the time to learn the tips for attracting more Facebook friends and blowing up your groups with value.
