Grow Your Facebook Groups in 5 Simple Steps

If you have a Facebook group that is not totally blowing up, we need to change that NOW! Let’s implement strategic methods to bring more value to your audience.

There are several different concepts to try out for growing your groups. The five step plan to monetize and grow your group is to help get a better grasp on your business and audience.

The first step is to lead with value. Create a value-based group that is constantly providing new information and sharing applicable info about industry trends. Find the balance between value and sharing products or business opportunities. There are different ways to promote your company, but you always want to lead with value. Use features like polls, top contributors, and more to engage with your followers. Think about your ideal avatar and what she would like to see from your group.

The second step is to create a content strategy for your group. Find some structure and create a place to store your ideas or future plans for the group. Stop, think, and ask yourself- what will my group members find helpful? Then, decide what that strategy will look like so you can execute it in your group down the line. Strategically welcome new members to the group and find unique ways to connect with your followers.

The third step is to promote! Promote the heck out of your Facebook groups. Share info about your groups on your stories and dedicate time to promote your groups to new members. Promote it with a carrot — dangle the carrot to get your followers interested and spark curiosity about your group. Avoid saying, “join my group,” and instead offer blurbs about the group that will encourage your audience to check out what you have to offer. Think and ask yourself about what you can promote to dangle to your followers. Share deets about upcoming or previous trainings that may be applicable to your audience. Consider introducing a guest trainer or hosting an interview of some sort to continue bringing value.

Providing an incentive for your group members to collaborate in your group is a great way to increase engagement. Challenges and giveaways work very well with increasing engagement and followers. If you create a lead magnet, be sure to include the link in the files tab or in the welcome video. Put it inside the group and encourage others to grab the link and download your freebie. This will be a motivator for you to use to encourage more people to join the group.

The fourth step is to be consistent to grow engagement. Consistency is key. Many of your group posts will only show on the timeline of a select group of your members. If you have a content strategy then you have a plan in place on how to continue growing engagement. If you’re not showing up for your people everyday, they won’t show up for you.

The final step is to connect in Messenger with our group members without an agenda. Build a relationship with the followers in your group to grow your credibility and connection with this person. You’ll get to know your audience even better once you’ve established one-on-one connections with them. Pay attention, ask questions, and stay listening to your audience!
