Are you struggling with figuring out how to appear on social media? Do you still get stuck when you’re trying to come up with content because you don’t know what to post? Let me share with you a couple of struggles I see when it comes to personal branding and how you can correct them.
If you want to truly show up online, you need to learn how to become consistent, know what to share, and know how to promote your business. I think the biggest struggle when it comes to personal branding is that a lot of you are hesitant to make the leap to build your business online. Maybe you’re anxious about how other people will view you or maybe you are simply scared to fail. We need to get those thoughts out of our heads because there is a support team that’s got your back and as a Goal Digger, we know that we can do anything we put our mind to. Once you know what type of content to create and how to create it, it will change your life and your business.
Now that I have successfully run my company for almost four years, I understand what type of content people engage with and what type of content attracts my avatar. If I need to get new customers or attract new team members to me, then I need to focus on content that will do just that. If I wasn’t sharing my life and my business on my Instagram stories, TikTok, Instagram reels, and Facebook wall then you wouldn’t know what I sell. It’s time to get out of your comfort zone and learn those skills to improve your business and improve your life!
The secrets to really getting your content nailed include a few things; first is organization. You need to know what to post and when to post it as well as learning how to set aside time to create the content. You should have a few different categories of content that you want to post and, I suggest, sitting down every Sunday and scheduling the content for the week, that way you don’t need to worry about it every day of the week. Next, you need to remember that people are attracted to other people, so you need to include personal stories and photos of your everyday-life. That could include certain things or people that inspire you, photos of your family, and even your progress in both your personal and professional life.
We need to talk about taking selfies and why some of you aren’t posting them on your social media channels. Are you afraid of what others think or what they’re going to say? You have to remember that what you have is a potential blessing to other people. If you’re not willing to post your selfies and parts of your life online, how do you expect people to interact with your other content? By not being vulnerable and posting, you are actually holding your business hostage from other people that may really need your product or service. We are in the social era and we have literally everything we need at our fingertips. I used to go from door-to-door selling my products and now I can do it all from my couch. It’s time for you to take that leap and do the same!
Lastly, you need to focus on your intention. Stop planning content with no real end goal. Make sure that your Trello boards are up-to-date and you know what your personal branding buckets are. If you don’t know what to post, it’s probably because you’re not being intentional with your content. Attention and intention go hand-in-hand. So pay attention to the content you’re consuming and how it makes you feel: do you like what other people are posting? Is it engaging or not engaging? Take note so you know what to do for your own business. Get out of your own way and start being intentional with your content and with your business. I believe in you. You got this!
