Today, I want to share with you how I learned to make my first comma check. Making 6 to 7 figures is totally doable in your business! But, you don’t go from $0 to 7 figures in one night – first, you have to make your first comma check.
To get your first comma check, we need to break it down. Most people that are starting out in their new business are getting customers and not business builders. By business builders, I mean people who are going to help leverage your network and customers through their network. Say you earn 30% commission; in order to make $1,000 in one month, you must make a little over $3,000 a month in personal volume. What you want to do is break down your business. You have to have recurring orders coming in, new customers coming in, get referrals from your customers and learn how to implement those tactics. When you can implement those steps, you can reach your personal volume goal.
However, you are going to get to your personal volume goal sooner if you’re learning how to work through others. Learn how to leverage other people’s sales to help you generate income. Put a team together! If you are in control of your numbers, ask yourself: How much activity did I put in this month? How much content did I put out? How many Facebook lives did I do? How many online events did I host this month? Really understand your numbers and figure out how to organize and understand your real metrics.
When you get numbers in place, then you are able to scale it. By scaling it, I mean that you’re going to take what you’re doing and get bigger results with the same amount of effort. So, how are you going to scale it? Well, having other people on your team will help. Also learning how to work through others networks to generate more leads for your business. That might mean, hanging out in others’ Facebook groups, asking a friend to host an online live event together, getting a group of team builders together to host vendor blenders, etc. You can do many things to leverage your sales, you just have to figure out what works best for you.
Your homework over the next few days should be to pull up your back office report from the last three months and really understand what your numbers and metrics are. Ask yourself: What is my personal volume? What is my team volume? What activity am I doing each week with content, online events, and referrals? Really get an understand of how you can leverage other peoples networks. You never know how people are going to find you, so what are you going to do to lever up your game? If you’re getting frustrated, you’re just not looking at it the right way! You can get that first comma check by learning all the things that are listed above. I believe in you, Goal Digger!
