Don’t know what to post on Instagram?! Girl, I’ve got you. Today, not only am I going to explain the key ingredients to killer IG stories, but I’m also going to give you a FREE download with a checklist of all the Instagram story posts to elevate your personal brand! Let’s dive in!
One of the most common struggle areas I see within my students is that they don’t know how or what to post on their social media to create curiosity around their brand. What we’ve discovered is, the more time people spend viewing your stories, the more your audience feels connected to you. A huge element of marketing is learning how to connect with audiences you didn’t know were there and how to take a cold lead, warm them up, and turn them into a hot prospect. Having at least 8 stories a day is going to give you the intention that you need to show up and be consistent.
I have put together a cheat sheet for you to create 8 stories a day that helps you make sure you’re hitting all the key elements to building up your personal brand, sharing what you do, and letting people know how they can work with you. Now I’m going to teach you what each of these elements are and why they’re necessary to post on your social media.
Story #1: Inspire to Action
Think to yourself: What can I share that will inspire somebody to have a great day? You definitely don’t want your only posts to be about your offers, promotions, and products. You need to show that you are passionate about your business and your audience by inspiring your viewers. Every single day you should share something inspirational.
Story #2: Create curiosity
Instead of just sharing what’s on sale – create some curiosity around it! You’re going to rotate your products, business, and offerings every other day to keep your audience informed. Remember: This shouldn’t be the only thing you post about, just sprinkle it in every few days.
Story #3: Engage your followers
Use all of Instagram and Facebook’s story features like creating a poll or asking viewers to leave a comment. This allows your audience to be welcomed into your everyday life and makes them feel like they’re a friend of yours. Once you see that someone has answered, be sure to go to messenger to interact with them further.
Story #4: Educate with authority
You want people to know that you’re an expert in your industry – so, drop some facts on ‘em! List the benefits of using your products/services. For example, if you sell anti-aging cream, share what happens to the skin as someone ages and how your products prevent that.
Story #5: Show your life as an influencer
Let people see you doing everyday things that everyone else is doing. I always love to post clips of me hanging out with my family or going on a run and just chatting with my followers like I’m BFFs with each of them. They’ll like seeing you be so personable.
Story #6: Selfies with a sticker
Just a tip: Make sure your stories are animate with GIFs, stickers, captions, etc. Make them fun so people won’t have the initial instinct to just click through!
Story #7: The art of promotion
What can you promote on your story? Are you offering new products? Is your coaching business providing a new service? Although you don’t only want to promote on your stories – you do want your audience to know what’s happening in your biz.
Story #8: The best of…
Always be sure to end the day with the best takeaway you have. Start on a good note and end on a good note!
