If you don’t know how to properly qualify a lead into a prospect then you’re probably missing the mark. People who don’t understand this process are trying to sell too quickly which results in crickets in your inbox.
A lot of people are confused on this part so let me share with you a basic strategy that every marketer and direct seller NEED to know how to do.
Lead VS Prospect
Let’s start by giving a definition of what a lead really is. A lead is anyone who comes into your world in any way. For example, maybe you put a lead magnet on Pinterest about how to meal prep for the week and someone clicks on it and as now subscribed to your email list. THAT is a lead.
However, if this person is only interested in the meal prep checklist and is not interested in health and wellness or your fitness business they are not a qualified prospect.
So how do you know if a lead is a prospect?
You need to be asking prequalifying questions to uncover their pain points and see if you have the solution.
What You Should Be Doing In Your Biz Every Day
You need to be generating new leads into your business every day. How do you do that? Go live on Facebook, message people who interact with your content, stay consistent with posting on Instagram, create content that attracts leads to you.
You also need to learn how to track your new leads every day. How do you do that? Look at your new email subscribers, look at new followers/likes on your Facebook business page, look for new Instagram followers.
All of the new people who are coming into your world are leads: connect with them in messenger and ask prequalifying questions!
Now, make sure you’re qualifying people. How to do that: Get them into your email sequence and/or text message marketing, get to know them one-on-one in messenger, or do a curiosity post on your page.
Get into messenger and ask people questions. When you get really good at asking questions, you will quickly learn that’s the best way to qualify leads!
