In today’s blog post, we are going to talk about how to put your strategic plan for 2022 in place. So many people set goals, but they don’t understand why or how to break down the goal. February 1st rolls around the corner, and 99% of those new year’s resolutions are forgotten. The Goal Digger brand was created because I realized people didn’t know how to set goals. If you have no goals, you have no vision. You won’t be able to grow your business, relationships, and all the things that come with it.
Let’s break it down. There are 3 components I want you to think about to put your strategic plan for 2022 in place.
#1 The Why
I know you probably have heard this before, but why is this important to you? When I am thinking about how big we’re going to go next year, and the growth we are going to have, I think, “Why is that important?” Well, I want to grow. I want to double our volume and double our staff. I want to be able to bless more people, and grow our nonprofit to where we are giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars every year. Every year.
But most importantly, my big reason is to become a household brand. I want people to know us and what we have to offer to be the gold standard. To raise the bar for the quality of content that is put out there, leading to real results. I want us to be unparalleled! To do that, some things have to happen first.
#2 The What
You have your big vision, so what is the strategy to get there? What is the process to accomplish those goals? For example, if I want to make 5 million in sales, what is the strategy behind that? Well, one of those things would be to grow our revenue. So how do we grow our revenue? We need to get in front of more students to do that. This is how you list out your goals specifically.
#3 The How
How are we going to grow our revenue? We are going to launch other programs; we will have other verticals or offerings. We are also going to improve our sales team. Our affiliate marketing program is rolling out very soon, so we will have more people promoting us on social media, in all different areas and spaces. Is that going to help us get in front of more people? Absolutely. Is that going to convert to more sales? Yes, absolutely! We are starting to raise our prices across the board by more than double, which is a bold move. So as you can see, if my goal is 5 million and we are at 2.5 million, how will we bridge that gap?
Make some decisions.
I have to ask myself, “What is the strategy behind that goal,” and decide what I am going to do next. That empowers me to make decisions in my business. A lot of you are not making decisions in your business right now. And you are sitting there wondering why you are not making money. You are not making decisions because there is no plan. You need a rhyme and a reason to get focused!
I want you to sit down. Give yourself 30 minutes to an hour. Get serious with this. Let’s get this vision. Why is this important to you? It could be financial freedom for your family, and being able to bless other people – to help them launch their own business for financial freedom. Then list out some goals professionally and/or personally and break down those goals. Let’s get into the strategy; that is the missing piece. What needs to happen for you to hit that goal, and how are you going to accomplish it?
I want you to take what you have just written down and put it somewhere visible. I want you to focus on it. I want you to know what you are doing and why you are doing it. If you don’t, you are just going to wander around like a ship in the night that has no lighthouse. I want to be your lighthouse, but you need to be your own north star. You need to know why you’re doing it, what you’re doing, and how you’re doing it every single day! That is how you get out of bed with a purpose.
Let me know when you complete this exercise because I would love to hear from you! Let’s do this, Goal Diggers!
