As women, it has only been a recent reality where we feel powerful enough to make as much as other people. I share with you these tips and insights because I, too, was once at a loss with money and my financial standing. My credit was in the toilet, I had eviction notices taped to my door, and I would choose an overpriced pair of jeans over putting gas in my car. I had a lot of financial baggage that I had to work through and that is what makes me feel so confident in the contents of my book.
Make money, lose money, spend money, to insure money.
When I first started making money, I made $250,00 my first full year with my company… yet at the end of the year, I was broke. I realized I needed help and signed up for coaching, which I charged to a credit card right after I had just cut them all. I needed someone to help me overcome my self sabotaging ways that manifested into physical and mental money blocks.
It is not enough to just know how to make the money.
You NEED to feel comfortable with it. Feel excited about it. You need to budget. For some of you, you might not even know how much money you have but you know you need more. You keep having to say “no” to yourself and your kids. You don’t want to, but you feel you have no choice and that confuses you. Together, we will look at your numbers and I will show you that budgeting is not a bad thing.
Budgeting now doesn’t mean budgeting forever.
My family doesn’t stick to much of a budget anymore but that is because we know how much money is going in and out of our lives. In the beginning, we religiously stuck to a budget as we worked our way out of debt. Maybe some of you have no savings, or nothing put aside for emergencies, or you have no retirement savings.
