People make the mistake of trying to be a glorified sales rep when they use social media to market their business.  All that does is fatigues your audience. It doesn’t create curiosity and it doesn’t attract the leads to your inbox that you need. When people come to your page you want them to enjoy the content that you are sharing.  No one wants to feel like they are being “sold” to. 

Today I will share practical steps you can begin to implement right now, but you must also shift your mindset to show up differently on social media.   Instead of thinking of yourself as a sales rep for a company you want to influence people to make a decision. You want to have a strong presence and posture to convert your audience to hot prospects. 

You aren’t just the shampoo girl, or CBD girl or eyelash girl.  You are a Beauty Influencer or a Health and Wellness Influencer.  Back out and look at the big picture.  Share other products related to beauty or health and wellness.  Maybe it’s some jewelry you just love, or a lip-gloss or a natural deodorant, these are some of the different things you could share in the beauty space. Think of influencers you know. They may share their product, but many times they are sharing other products they love! Your job is also to share the things you love, the things going on in your life.  Take your audience along for a ride, while asking them questions and engaging them.

Remember EVERY single day your job is to connect with new people and expose new people to what you do and then follow-up.

Tip #1 – Share YOU.  People need to like, know, and trust you. People need to get to know you.  People purchase from a person NOT a company.

Tip #2 – Be interesting.  Connect with your audience.  Inspire, educate, and entertain.  Social media is a way for people to escape normal life. 

Tip #3 – Go live! Go live on a video whether on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or even a podcast. Nothing can replace a video.  Video is the most powerful weapon on social media.  When you are talking to your audience through video, they feel like they are hanging out with you.

Tip #4 – Rock your stories!  Stories are non-negotiable.  You must rock your stories on Facebook or Instagram.  Browse through my YouTube channel “The Goal Digger Girl” and you will find plenty of guidance on stories.

Tip #5 – Get to know your people.  Build your core audience.  Get to know them, their pain points, and what solutions to offer.

Tip #6 – Nurture people. Nurture the people in your Facebook groups.  This is your tribe and community.  Nurturing your people allows you to establish yourself as an authority figure.
