How many of you want to master recruiting this year? If you’re in sales or do coaching, you recruit your clients. Don’t be afraid! This is something that you can master. I was somebody that was not good at it. But, I have mastered it over the years, and I’m going to teach you how to find your ideal clients and recruit rockstars!
Many of you are out there and are actually trying to find your ideal clients and recruit people by posting on social media, doing stories, and engaging with your Facebook group. But you are all wondering, “Where’s my money?” You don’t understand why when you enroll people, they just quit, or you enroll people, and they talk a good game, but don’t follow through. All they want is to know how to make $10,000 right out the gate. You need to find the right kind of people, people who want this just as much as you do. Attract the people who see the vision of this opportunity, whether it’s network marketing, direct sales, or coaching with you.
Not everyone is for you.
There was one time when I was privately coaching, and I was really working hard to quit my job. So, I was taking any client I could. I took this one client on, and when I did the consultation with her, I just knew in my gut she would be a Debbie Downer and negative. It was the biggest nightmare ever. She would blame everything on me, and wanted me to read all of her stuff and edit it. I am your coach, not a freaking magazine editor. Needless to say, I was not the coach for her. If you’re a coach, you can get clients that you do not want to work with.
What if I told you it was possible to set yourself up for success so that you attract the exact person you want to work with TO YOU. It’s possible. I couldn’t recruit a soul to save my life when I first started. I think I enrolled one person because she felt bad for me. So if I could go from not enrolling anyone to enrolling 350 people directly to me in the last few years, you can too! I was the number two recruiter in my company globally.
I’ve got a few big ideas for you that really worked for me over the years and our clients. We’re going to focus on profile, people, and posture.
Curb Appeal
First, I want you to do an audit of your profile. Pretend that you’re a new Facebook friend of yours, and I want you to go to your social channels, wherever you’re hanging out. When they get a friend request from you, what message do you send them? What kind of content do they see you posting? What’s your curb appeal? The curb appeal is the aesthetics. It’s the way others see you. You need to create an overall experience when people come to your profile.
My brand is something I have built by elevating my online presence. I don’t know if you caught my Ted talk that I did last year, but it was about social media and using it for good. I believe that when people come to social media and interact with you, your job is to make their life better. So if you are in health and wellness, beauty, or whatever you do, how do you make people feel? You don’t need to be me, you don’t need to be an Instagram model.
Show up as the best version of yourself to attract the people you want to work with. So, I want you to focus on that curb appeal. People should come to your account and right away know who you are and what you’re about.
Who are you attracting?
The next thing to consider is the people that you’re attracting. Once I got this, everything changed for me, especially as a coach. This is all because of what I shared with you, that girl I had to fire as a client. Some people need what you have to offer. When you talk to someone, you are thinking about how this opportunity can change their life, and they know it will. The people you want to work with are the ones who want it.
If you feel like you’re running around trying to help people, and find yourself getting frustrated because they’re not showing up or participating, it’s because they need it, but they don’t want it. You end up depleting your energy and focusing on repelling the good stuff. You are pushing away the awesome rockstars out there. Those are the people who come in and see the vision. They know they could totally do this or love what you’re doing. They don’t necessarily need it, but they want it. Some of them will need it, but most of them just want it. They want to build that business and get into your coaching program because they want to expand their wealth or level up their game. They want that product you have. There’s a BIG difference there.
Stop being desperate.
I want you to focus on your posture. With posture, this is where we are – we stop convincing. It’s time to stop being desperate! Before I started going on social media in 2017, I was cold messaging people. It’s embarrassing to say, but that’s what I was taught. I cold messaged this woman, and she agreed to look at what I had. I look back now, and I know she was not qualified. She was not my avatar. I remember my heart was beating so fast. I obsessively checked my phone every five minutes for almost two days straight. She ended up not enrolling. Where was my posture? Was my posture desperate or needy, trying to convince her she needed to do it? Or was my posture where I am now, which is “Hey! I know that you commented on my post about potentially working with me. I’d love to tell you more about it.” Do you guys see the difference there?
I just don’t have the bandwidth to work with every single person I enroll, I can only take on so many people at a time, and I’m really looking at developing leaders. I love pouring into and working with them. Is that you? If not, that’s okay! You can still make money and plug into our team tools. But how are you showing up? How are you coming across?
