Lead Magnets that Magnetize

People always ask me how I went from having no following, no audience, and no business to building over 5 million dollars in less than four years. I mean, that’s a huge growth that any business could ever dream of. I have to give some credit to the way I do lead magnets. That’s why I’m so motivated to share with you how I actually used lead magnets on social media to attract people because you can do it too. I’m not some magical unicorn who just cracked the code. I’m just somebody who understands marketing. 

If you are someone that doesn’t understand marketing, you can learn! The posting and praying game is just not working anymore. Those of you who are coming to me saying you don’t have people signing up for your challenges, or that sales are down, it is because you are not drawing people in. That is why lead magnets are so important. Wouldn’t you love to be able to handpick your leads and get the exact people that you want to work with coming to you? Well, that’s what a lead magnet does! 

Building out your business.

If you lost momentum in your business, you did not plan your business out to be predictable. Sometimes we become entrepreneurs by accident which is great, but you still have to make a plan. We get excited about the growth and profit, then we turn around, and soon the funnel has dried up. Adding a lead magnet to your business keeps your sales funnel full. You have to have something predictable coming to keep your business going. If you keep hoping, wishing, and praying for that flash sale or people to come to your webinar, that will not always work. Hoping is just wishing. What we want to do is we want to be goal setters and put a plan in place

What’s the point of a lead magnet, and why do I need one? 

A lead magnet allows you to control leads coming to you and gives you more predictability. The best way to do that is by putting something out there that people want. Don’t just make a pdf of your five favorite recipes or something that has been put out there a million times. You want to be specific because the lead magnet needs to solve a pain point. People need to see it and think they have to have it. 

What should my lead magnet be?

Your lead magnet is supposed to be an exchange of value, so what can you give in exchange for their emails or phone numbers? One of the main ones I want you guys to be thinking about is an e-book. An e-book is super simple to design. You can just go on Canva and make something, then save it as a PDF. The perceived value is very high with an e-book. You can turn just about anything into an e-book. Maybe you’re one of those people who naturally like to organize things. It could give five tips on how to make your kitchen organized. I mean, everything has a home, right? You make one about your favorite recipes if you are in the health industry. 

Other types of lead magnets.

Video trainings are another great lead magnet. The number one way that people digest content is through videos. You can unlist videos on YouTube, and when people sign up for your lead magnet, they will have the link emailed straight to them, making it accessible to only them! You can do video tutorials and trainings to give a peek into what your business is and what you do. 

Quizzes and surveys are a great way to get some interaction. It’s just four simple questions, and boom, they’re done! If you want to run ads, the cheapest lead you’ll ever get in your life is with a quiz or survey. Webinars are super easy if you want to teach your content in a live way. Telling people to sign up in advance and saying, “You don’t want to miss this,” gets people excited. People can opt in at any time to watch your webinar, but it feels like it’s right now. 

Everyone loves cheat sheets or cliff notes.  People don’t ever just want to read the whole book or listen to the whole thing. People get busy and don’t have time. They just want the short version or the meat of the lesson. If you have valuable content and things in place, why not turn it into a freebie.

How to get it out there?

Our main goal is to gather leads and we get that through emails or numbers. By creating a landing page you can capture names, emails, or phone numbers. When they are finished signing up, your lead magnet will be sent to them. You can add your landing page to your linktree, milkshake, or whatever links site you use. 

Spamming cold messaging, copying, pasting, posting, praying, dropping promos, or flash sales in your stories is not going to work any more, not a year from now or two years from now. Those that are hanging on to old ways, your businesses are going to dry up. It’s not duplicatable. It is time to start thinking about the future. Be unique and solve those pain points for people. If you learn to really serve and offer value to others, that’s how you will set your business on FIRE!
