We all know by now how important it is to be creating short-form content on social media. By offering tips and tricks through Instagram and Facebook Reels and giving small little nuggets of value, you are going to leave your audience wanting more.
Let’s get started!
How to Create an Info-Based Reel with Canva
When creating Canva Reels the best way to do so and get all the information out that you want to share is to have 3 cards/pages.
3 parts – Reel Cover, Quick Tips, End Card about you!
The first card will be the cover of your reel. This is where you want to showcase yourself and what it is you want to share. The best way to do this is to insert a picture of YOU!
You can upload a picture to Canva just by dragging the photo on your computer and dropping it into an opened Canva design. Once uploaded, you can use the photo in any design of your choosing! If using a selfie, I recommend finding a frame that works with your design. Frames can add personality to your design and are perfect for selfies. Along with a photo of you, make sure to add the title of the tips you are providing. Example – “5 Tips to … get more rest, find your confidence, get flawless skin.” You want to choose something that you are passionate about sharing to ultimately help your audience learn something new.
The second card in your design will be the tips that you want to share with everyone! Canva offers many templates to choose from. Find one that fits your personality and brand then update it to reflect you! Add your own tips, fonts, colors, and photos. Have fun, be creative, and don’t overthink it! Offering value by sharing 5 or fewer tips is a great way to get users to keep coming back to your stories.
Bonus Tip – Make sure to add “Screenshot This” to prompt viewers to save slides.
The third card will be closing up by providing users with your Logo and/or Call To Action. This is a small gesture that will aid in your brand visibility and let people know who you are. Viewers are more likely to remember you if you remind them of your brand and prompt them to engage with you. Call to action ideas would be: “grab my link,” “click the link in bio,” or “follow me for more tips.”
Once all three cards are done, you can animate each of your cards and bring them to life. You can add animations to the text or the whole slide itself, whatever you prefer! Make sure to animate each card to catch your viewer’s attention and provide that fun look to your Reel.
Bonus Tip: Add trending audio by searching for trending audio and add it to your reel before posting!
