How to Find Reels Ideas + a Bonus Tip on Outsourcing This!

Video marketing is the wave of the future! If you don’t know that by now, it’s well overdue that you jump on the bandwagon. Let me share a great process on how to find Reels ideas (for Instagram and Facebook) and how to keep them organized!

If you get a process down for finding Reels and creating them, you can even delegate it, which was really hard for me at first. With the ability to create one and save it in your draft folder, you can batch record, but if you have a VA logging into your Instagram account, they won’t see them. It’s native to the phone, and it’ll save them to that phone ONLY. I had a tough time finding a process to delegate this until I found this amazing workaround. If I record 5 to 10 Reels at once, which takes me 30 minutes, maybe an hour, I’m good to go. I only post one reel per day.

Find Reels on the discover page.

When in the Instagram app, you can tap the Reels button on the bottom of your screen and scroll through. But on the discover page, you can find really trendy ones. What I do is click through, watch the reel, and ask myself, “Do I like the sound in the plot?” A lot of them are voiceovers and are really catchy. And other ones are cute dance videos. I’ll ask myself this question, and decide how I could repurpose it. Often, the Reels could have nothing to do with my niche or industry, but the element of the reel is what I like. 

So, here is what I do.

I click the audio at the bottom right hand corner. Before I use the audio, I actually go up to the top corner and click the copy link option. If you are going to delegate this, you actually need the audio. This process is also a good way to keep track of all of these.

Create Reels and save them for later.

Now we’re going to use the audio and record the video. After you are done, go and preview what you just recorded. You can add different texts and fonts, but after, you will want to hit the download button. Instagram will download it without audio. That is okay since we have the link to the audio to use for later. But go ahead and save it as a draft just to have it.

Go over to your camera roll and add your Reel video to a shared album. If you have a VA, or just to keep this organized, you can have comments and communicate with others. I will take the audio clip from that song that I used, and I’m going to pop it in there. Your VA can pull up this video and know what audio you used to post your video. Don’t forget to give your video a title because you will record all of them and forget what they were all about. 

If you are not going to use a VA, create the Reel and save it in your draft. When you are ready to post the video, open it up and make the title, caption, and hashtags. The reason why we have titles is that you need to make a thumbnail. If you go look at my Reels, each one has a thumbnail to go with my branding. When adding a thumbnail, the cover has to be native to the phone of whoever is posting the reel. Make sure the person posting the reel has all the information to post.

I hope my tips can help you clarify how to find reels and how to organize your process a bit better. This system works great for me. If you can delegate this and just hammer out the content and delegate it, it’s going to save you so much time and energy.
