I remember when Facebook first launched the Stories feature and I thought, “Oh great, something new I have to learn,” lol. Sound familiar? But one thing I’ve learned in the past year is that you have got to lean in to any new features and see how you can maximize them for your business. Let me share two ways I believe Facebook Stories are money makers.
First, anyone who “views” your story (shown in the bottom left hand corner) has proactively chosen to watch your story. On the contrast, when you show up in someone’s newsfeed, they are reactively digesting your content, which is dictated by Facebook. When it comes to the Stories feature, they have to click your image at the top to access what you’ve shared. This means they are choosing to check out what you have to offer, which is way more powerful than a drive by like or reaction to what you post on your page. Make sense? These connections are much warmer than others you may have elsewhere on social media.
Second, anyone who views your stories is a lead. You can literally direct message them and say, “Hey, Sarah! I saw you checked out my Facebook story today – what did you like most about that quote?” Find something in common that you can connect with them about and take it from there. Make sure you put them on your prospect tracker so that you can follow up with them and see how you can work in your business or product.
And remember to use this feature to share more about who you are. Think of it as the behind the scenes of your day to day to life and shoot for posting two to four times daily. You can also piggyback on your posts on your page and drive viewers to go check out your content that way as well. It really is a great tool to utilize to grow your business!
