What’s the go-to structure of a Facebook live? Here is my formula that I have been using for the last 2 1/2 years. These 5 steps I am about to share with you will help you take your viewers on a journey of amazing, impactful, effective, and value-driven content so they want to engage with you and what you are sharing.
Step #1 – Introduction. Always repeat your name and the title of your topic. Get in the habit of re-introducing yourself or using your tagline or brand name. Follow this up by telling them what you are going to teach them right away. You need to “hook” them right away or they will jump off. Attention these days is limited, and Facebook is competitive space.
Step #2 – Give some background. Why are you doing this training? Why are you teaching them this? Maybe you have struggled with the topic and learned how to better deal with it and so now you want to share with them. Your viewers need to know your why.
Step #3 – Encourage Engagement. This is SO important! Tell your viewers to comment. Let’s look at what an example of this might be. During your training, you might say something like, “Today I am sharing 5 ways to create a rock-solid mindset, what I would like you to do is share in the comments if you do mindset work – yes, no or sometimes.“ Doing this tells the algorithm that people are liking your content and it pushes it out in front.
Step #4 – Share 3 to 5 Tips. Value-driven tips! Work in some stories here and there throughout your tips. Remember, not 1 tip and not 10 tips. Having only 1 tip, doesn’t give you enough to talk about and 10 is too many and you will lose people.
Step #5 – CTA or Call to Action. This is where you tell them what to do. For example, you would say, “If you are loving the video put “group” in the comments below and I will put you in my private VIP group where I have even more in-depth content and training.” or “I also have a great freebie that goes with this training, just put “freebie” below and I will be sure to get it to you.” You could also give them some homework, such as tag a friend or share the training, or even get started on how they are going to work those 5 tips into their daily activities.
This formula has helped me go from 40 views on my live videos to over 10,000 on some of my videos. It really does work! Until next time!
