The word algorithm may sound intimidating but don’t let it be. It simply means different social media platform’s methods to determine who they’ll show your posts to, how popular they’re trending to be and if you’re posting relevant content. Let’s look at some little known ways you can up your algorithm. My favorite algorithm hack is to learn how to create engaging posts right off the bat. This is especially important with Facebook and Instagram, as they’ll decide within about 10-30 minutes whether or not to show your post to the rest of your friends or followers. Prompting in your post description or live, “drop ____ in the comments, put YES below if you agree, etc.” are all good ways to encourage immediate engagement.

Your next task is to really pay attention to what your audience is responding to. Are they digging your inspirational quotes and asking for more? Or are you hearing crickets when you share something from your company directly? Really watch and take stock of what’s working and what isn’t. Then literally all you have to do is share more of what they want and less of what they don’t want.

And my last tip is to interact with your post so that the algorithm favors you. When someone comments on your post, don’t just like it or react, reply back. Better yet, go over to their profile page and comment on their posts. The whole entire point of these platforms is to be social, so don’t forget about getting to know your followers and instead be solely focused on just what you have to offer.
