Master Your Money Mindset

Do you want to get totally lit in your business, but don’t know where to begin? It all starts with mastering your mindset. A lot of you have identified that you have big income goals this year. You realize that your money mindset is stopping you. It’s holding you back. So let’s get into how to smash through these blocks and make it happen. I can tell you personally that everything changed for me once I tackled money mindset mastery.

At the end of 2019, I had no money. I was actually getting into a coaching program I really wanted to do. We had done $250,000 as a company in the year, most of it was for my network marketing company. It had a very successful year, and I had nothing to show for it. There were not a lot of expenses. I was wondering where my money was. I had spent it all. So I actually ended up putting the coaching program on a credit card. Putting something on a credit card was the worst thing for me, but I knew I needed to scale my business and grow it. I took that step of faith, and I’m so glad I did.

At that moment, I knew something was wrong here. Why was I putting something on a credit card if I just did a quarter of a million dollars? When I went through that work, I realized some key things. I shifted and was able to adopt an abundance mindset and went on to do 1.1 million dollars that year, and almost 3 million last year. It just continues to evolve. There are new levels, and there are new blocks. Some things still come up for me, but I’m a work in progress. I can be aware of it and acknowledge it. I want to pass along some advice and tips that have helped me along the way.

If you don’t have a strong money mindset, you will stay at the same income level.

Now there are two pieces to that. We have a set point when it comes to income. If you think about it, you have more knowledge, and you’re more experienced. So why are you making the same amount of money every year? The other piece of that is maybe you’re making more money, but you have the same amount in your bank account. You see, you are making more money, then you go plan a trip for your family. Well, there goes all your extra money. It all comes down to a money mindset because you have a set point of comfort when it comes to income. Believe it or not, we have a point.

If you grew up in poverty, as I did, you grew up where money was very scarce. Psychologically, it stays with you. So even if you do have an abundance, or you have the opportunity, so often, we end up staying in the same set point, and at the same comfort level. Understanding how your mind works around this stuff, and being aware can help you break free of that. You can unlock that and get that block out of the way, so you can smash through that ceiling.

Weak money mindset equals self-sabotage.

You’ll be really close to a breakthrough in your business, and you will self-sabotage. You’ll spend the money that you made, and you won’t know where it is. You will get into fights about money with your spouse. You will not have a good relationship with money. This is all because you are self-sabotaging. What I want you to do is reframe that. Start saying these affirmations to yourself:

“I am the queen of abundance.”

“I am the queen of setting goals and crushing them.”

“I’m the queen of wealth creation.”

“I am a money magnet, and it flows to me abundantly.”

If you don’t have a strong money mindset, you do not believe you’re worthy.

You do not believe you’re worthy of success or money. If you have not done a good job with your finances, you might even feel like it’s risky for you to be blessed with money because what if you spend it all or max out all your credit cards. I have maxed out all the credit cards and destroyed my credit, and had to take a course on being responsible with credit. I’ve had eviction notices on my apartment door. I’ve had warnings that my cars were going to be repossessed. I have been there! That’s in the past.

Now you have to choose a new story of how you describe your life and the role you play in it. You have to start telling yourself, “No, I am responsible with money. Money should flow abundantly to me because I’m going to put it to good”. See, there’s a need, and you can start telling yourself a new story.

What you need to focus on.

Here’s what I want you to focus on for your mindset mastery. First thing I want you to do is mentally retrain your brain. What this looks like is doing a daily deposit. It’s doing the daily grind by watching training or coaching that’s going to change your money mindset. This is where you will pull out your journal, and you’re going to write a bunch of things about yourself. You might not believe them, but you’re going to write them down. I am proof that affirmation statements work because I rebuilt myself. You’re going to owe yourself an affirmation. When you notice those things about you, capture them.

Second, I want you to be aware of making decisions from lack or fear. An example of this would be, let’s say you wanted to visit your family this summer, and with everything going on in the world, you are just not sure. Would it be very beneficial for you to take your kids to go see their grandparents? That would be out of faith. Make the decision of faith out of abundance, knowing that the world’s got your back, and God’s got your back. Take that step. Trust yourself. If you are stuck at an impasse and you don’t know what to do, always ask yourself, is this decision based on fear or faith? That’s what I always do. I always figure it out and I always take that step and it always works out.

Align yourself with abundance and align yourself with people who have what you want. If you are spending time with people that aren’t living the way you want to live, find new friends. Surround yourself with what you want to be and attract.
