So you’ve decided to start a business. If you’re like most entrepreneurs starting out, especially a network marketer, you usually decide to start your business as a side hustle. This is, in my opinion, the way to go as it allows you to grow it to the point where you can do it full time without the money stress of quitting your 9 to 5. However, too many times I see network marketers not finding the success they hoped to have with their business because they’re treating it like a hobby. Find out how to treat your business like the business it really is!
Set office hours. When you can work all the time…well let’s just say then we sometimes find ourselves not working much at all. Too much unstructured time is very dangerous to a budding entrepreneur. Take out your planner every Sunday night or Monday morning and map out when you’ll be working. I like to schedule in my non-work activities as well to make sure they don’t overlap and everything is prioritized.
Create DMOs. DMOs or Daily Methods of Operation are simply the activities that need to occur every single day to continue to grow your business and move it forward. If you got hired as a barista at Starbucks, you would be trained to follow a set of processes and procedures to ensure the location was well maintained and customers were satisfied. Come up with at least three to five non-negotiables that you are committed to doing daily.
Cultivate a Winning Mindset. In order for your side hustle to become a real business, you have to believe that it is. You have to develop confidence, faith and definitely unwaivering perseverance that you will make this happen.
