Once you get the basics down on social media, you’re probably noticing that you’re not having a hard time finding new people to prospect; if anything, you’re finding that you have way too many people to follow up with. If this you, then try using the See First feature on Facebook and Instagram to balance out adding new prospects to your list while following up with the existing leads as well.

When you’re adding new people to prospect, whether making connections with new friends, followers or others you’re meeting in groups, choose twenty five of them to show up on your See First list. The Following button will be on default so you will need to change their status as shown below. [This is Anna’s profile, by the way, she’s my fabulous assistant!].

I like to focus on no more than 25 new prospects at a time so I can really get to know them. What’s really neat is Facebook will show their posts to you first in your news feed so it’ll be much easier to comment and engage on their content and begin building a real relationship with them.

You can also do this on Instagram by choosing Turn on Post Notifications on their profile. I’d recommend sticking with about 25 here too if Instagram will be your focus for recruiting.

At the beginning of each month, go through your See First list and make adjustments to refresh your list and the same thing goes for Instagram. You’ll have to keep track of those you’ve chosen on Instagram but Facebook shows them on all in one place.

Give this a try and see how it helps you stay on top of your prospecting!
