Have you been wondering how to go from zero to thousands of subscribers and completely monetize your channel? I have a few success secrets to launching a new YouTube channel.
Respect the Platform
After going live on Facebook, I used to download the video and share it to YouTube. This did not work out well for my engagement and reach with the video. The algorithms on both platforms did not favor this and I had difficulties getting traction with this content. You want to avoid double posting video content from other channels to YouTube. Don’t repurpose content from other platforms TO YouTube—start by creating a YouTube video then share it out.
Identify Your Niche
Who are you, and how do you want to show up? What expert space do you want to dominate? Even if it is just something you are newly learning, share it to your profile. Continue bringing valuable insights to the table to consistently attract and engage your followers.
Adapt a Teaching Style
When you get in front of the camera, adapt a teaching style! Start thinking like a teacher or a coach who is trying to share complex information in a simplified manner. With YouTube, you want to come prepared with notes and create videos in a presentation manner. You can always redirect your followers to different parts of your online community by sharing links and promos, but you want to take on a teaching attitude since many YouTube users come to the website to digest content and learn.
Promote Your Own Channel
Of course you can always encourage users to “follow your channel,” on social channels but you can get creative in promoting your own content. Tip: don’t opt for Facebook when sharing your YouTube videos, consider sharing to other platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and more.
Be Consistent
Don’t start your YouTube channel just to let it fizzle out. You want to stay consistent and build a strong following by being incredibly focused and determined with learning the platform. Once you start, stay consistent, and don’t stop.
It’s much easier than it seems to get started with your own YouTube channel. The key is to start somewhere, grow, and learn while sharing your value on your channel!
