What is a lead magnet? A lead magnet is what you put out first to draw people into your email list and get them in your inbox! If you are building your business online or through social media, you are essentially building your business on borrowed land. At any given moment, the way you get your leads on social media can change. Algorithms can change or you can get put into social media jail, just to name a few ways you could lose your lead generation on social media! You will have no warning, it just happens. An email list is yours. You own it. If something happens with social media, you can go back to your email list.
Idea #1 – E-Book. You do not need a fancy website or beautiful logo; you just need to act. Simply make a word document or use Canva. Canva has templates where you can fill in the meat and potatoes. Give yourself credit. You know stuff! If people are constantly asking you about something, type it up and create an E-Book. Be sure to save it as a PDF so no one can edit it!
Idea #2 – Video Training. Create a video on the skill you are great at. Maybe you are great at home makeovers. Put together a video series for your subscribers. Could be a 3-part video on how you made over your house, sourced items, and picked out certain items, etc. Then share with people that if they want to see how you did this great home makeover, they need to drop their email below and you will share the video series.
Idea #3 – Surveys. In my experience, these have the highest conversion rate. If you are not sure what to ask, check out https://bucket.io, for some great quiz ideas. Surveys or quizzes are a great tool to pre-qualify your leads, it helps them figure out their problem and then you can be the solution. Plus, they are fun!
Idea #4 – Webinars. Schedule webinars for your audience to attend. This is a little more advanced, but a great lead magnet. When scheduling webinars, a great place to start is Zoom. When you are creating your webinar use the registration option. This will require, or force, your attendees to share their email. The only way they get the link for the webinar is to give you their email.
Idea #5 – Cheat Sheet. A cheat sheet is a great way to take what you are doing and put it into a bite-sized checklist for people. Cheat sheets are like “cliffs notes”. If you can make their life easier by providing a cheat sheet, or checklist, they will give you their name and email!
