You may or may not love taking selfies, but as an entrepreneur, it’s a part of the business. You are the face of your own brand! Your audience is more likely to interact with you if they trust you…and it’s easier for them to trust you when they see your face. It’s time to take those selfies!
I want to share my selfie-taking tricks with you so the next time you take selfies, you can feel confident and crush your photoshoot!
It’s important that you have a nice camera or phone to collect clear photos. The more professional they look, the better. I recommend setting your camera to portrait mode and putting a timer on for at least 3 seconds; this will help give you time before your shot is taken. Your camera or phone should be propped up and your whole body should be in the shot. If you’ve never used a selfie stick before, I definitely suggest looking for one! Visit http://bit.ly/TGDGBizSurvivalGDE to look for durable and long-lasting selfie sticks and ring lights to give you the perfect lighting.
If you are taking your own selfies, take them in batches! Find places around your home, or even your community, to create a fun and exciting backdrop for your photoshoot. Don’t be afraid to do an online search for spots to rent out that you can take your photos at. Visit www.peerspace.com to find places local to you for a beautiful photoshoot.
If you are not feeling confident in your abilities to take your own photos, there’s other people out there who can do it for you. The website www.snappr.com gives you a list of photographers that are in your area. Having a professional photographer organize a photoshoot for you and provide you with suggestions for poses and shots may be more comfortable for you.
Last, but not least, the poses you chose are just as important as taking the shots themselves. I recommend using different expressions and hand gestures when taking your selfies. For example, pointing up or down or holding your hand out are poses that can be used to prompt your followers on your graphics to” swipe up on your story” or “click the link down below”. Not only are the poses important, but make a note to do outfit changes. Pro tip: jewelry makes an outfit stand out even more, especially in pictures!
The more selfies you have in a folder, the more collateral you have to use for future graphics and other posts. It’s a great idea to go through all of your selfies and favorite the ones you would like to keep and ditch the rest!
I hope these tips and tricks are helpful for your next photoshoot!
