The Importance of Lead Magnets In Your Biz

Are you ready to get more leads in your business? Have you ever heard of or attempted to create a lead magnet? If you answered ‘no’, let’s chat about how lead magnets can totally blow up your business and how you can get started! This is not just a task for “fancy marketers” and it’s definitely not difficult to do! You can do all of this on your own…let’s dive in!

A lead magnet is going to allow you to put your products/services out on the internet so that you are consistently getting leads into your sales funnel. Why do you need a lead magnet? The first thing you need to understand is, if you are building on social media, you are building on borrowed land. Do you own Facebook, Instagram or any other social platform? No. Could your profile be shut down or the algorithm changed? Absolutely! When you have a lead magnet to build up an email list or a texting database, you now have something that you OWN. It is not the best long-term strategy to only build on social media, you should be thinking about what will keep your business afloat 5, 10, and 15 years down the road. The leads you’re getting today is the accumulation of all the hard work you’ve put in over the last few weeks; so, if you’re having a slow season, it’s not because of what you did yesterday, it’s because of how you’ve run your business the past few months. 

If you don’t constantly have new leads coming to you, you will not have new people to close, new business builders, or new team members. We want to build a business where we get recurring revenue every month or else you’re going to have a lot of anxiety and you’re going to be working all the time. The absolute best way to have predictability in your business is to create systems that have predictability, and that’s what a lead magnet does. 

What is a lead magnet? The best way to describe it is, “This for that.” If you give me this, I will give you that. If you sign up for my email list, I will give you my free social media content Trello board. Come up with something that is easy for you to implement. Do you have old video trainings, interviews, challenges you’ve done that you can pull out of the archives? The best thing about lead magnets is that they are evergreen. Evergreen means it can always be used and you don’t need to come up with more content every time someone clicks on your link. 

I want you to come up with something you already have and create a lead magnet for it. Put the lead magnet link in your bio, create a CTA and allow the leads to flow in. You are marketing to a moving parade…the people who are seeing your stories/posts/link today are going to be different people tomorrow. Start thinking like a marketer and put long-term plans into place with your strategies. Good luck Goal Digger!
