If you do not have a prospecting tracker and you aren’t tracking leads through a sales funnel, you are missing the mark! Did you know that less than 30% of leads are ever followed-up on? If you can get a system in place you can get control of your leads list. Instead of scrambling and trying to find new leads all the time, you will be able to nurture the leads that you do have.
Google Sheets have many cool features when it comes to leads tracking. For example, you can copy your prospects URL from their Facebook or Instagram page and insert that to their name on your Google Sheet. This makes it easy to quickly reach out to that person when you have a new product you think they may be interested in, or a special coming up, or even an event you would like to invite them to. You can also sort from A to Z or by follow-up date.
The first thing I do after entering a lead into my Google Sheet, is to create a column for “exposed”. Of course, you can tailor this to your needs. These are just some ideas of what I like to track. “Exposed” means you have told them what it is that you do. Through conversation in comments and messenger you get to know your prospects and find out what they do, then take the opportunity to share what you do. In the video below, I also give you examples of what I say in these conversations. I also keep track of our conversations in my “notes” column.
I then have a column where I add them to my Facebook Group. After getting to know them, I may suggest that they join my Facebook group for great things to check out and all kinds of information. Your Facebook group is where they can get all the answers to their questions, and your prospects can do their research.
Finally, I always add a column for the date I last followed-up and when I plan to follow up next. Here you can sort by next follow-up date. This is so important, just like at a job where you have someone telling you what to do, your google prospecting tracker sheet will tell you what to do. Who to follow up with and when. Don’t try to keep all that in your head, it will cause too much mental stress! Remember, always have a reason to follow-up! Maybe you have an event coming up you would like to invite them too, or a new product you think they might love.
Google Sheets is a great way to keep track of your leads! In the video below I will walk you through my Google Sheet leads tracker live and you will be able to get a copy of mine. I also have a link to my Trello Prospecting video in the video below. You can check that out and see which jumps out to you most, Google Sheets or Trello, go with what you can keep up with!
