Hey, Hey Kimberly Olson here, also known as the Goal Digger girl and I have a really fun training for you today. As you can see from my background, no, I’m not in Europe, but a girl can dream, so I am going to teach you how to the simple process to set up a green screen so you can create killer backgrounds for your videos or even images this, so I have to make sure. Yeah, I’ll tell you at the end how to take pictures. I’ve got that on my list to show you. The best part is you can get this set up for pennies. It’s like the best kept secret. Plus I get a ton of questions on it. It really grabs people’s attention, people’s attention, and helps elevate your brand. So we are going to dive into that today.
I don’t know about you, but it’s going to be hard not to be distracted by this beautiful background. So stay with me. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to give you the steps, the lowdown of how to do this. Okay. First step is you are going to buy your green screen. I will put my survival guide below so that way you can grab all the tools, all the bells and whistles. I have a green screen backdrop cloth, which I’ll show you. And then I also have a stand that it’s a photo backdrop stand. It’s, it’s cheap. It’s, it’s nothing fancy. Okay. I actually repurposed my office to create more space. So right now I’ll actually show it to you real quick. It is on a metal pole and I have a really big green screen. And so that way the edges weren’t showing or anything like that and I can put it again flush against the wall.
So I’m going to turn it off so you can see that’s not what I wanted to do. Okay. Hold on. Oh, I just got rid of my beautiful, there we go. None. This is what the green screen looks like. This is it. Okay. So it’s not even ironed or anything like that, which is really cool. So I just save all of mine in a folder. So we’ll go back to Europe cause it’s so awesome. Okay, so step one, you’re going to buy a green screen. Either put it against the wall or you’re going to get a photo backdrop cloth. The link is below. Okay? Then you’re going to choose some high quality images. So I’m going to share my screen so we can go to Unsplash. This is a free royalty free. I recommend royalty free if you can. If you’re going to go on Google images, just make sure it’s over 1000 you know how it tells you the dimensions, make sure it’s over 1000 and then I typed in Europe here, so Unsplash photos for everyone if you can give the author credit, but otherwise if it’s something like this, I can’t necessarily give this person credit.

I need this. Okay. It’s not letting me, it’s not letting me download. We’re going to move on. Okay. So what you can do is if you’ve seen my other ones, I do a lot with the living room. I really like that. Does this look familiar? Is this some of my faves? Um, I also too, you can download some and try them and see how they look. Sometimes they just don’t look very good. Uh, and then other ones are I’ve done office before and they’re okay. I mean some of them are more work oriented kitchen. You can get some really great kitchen ones that you can also get holiday ones.
So let’s say Valentine’s day and you want to do something fun with that. Why can’t that be your background? That’d be really pretty. Something like that. I would love that. I think that would look awesome. And then what you’re going to do is you’re going to grab those images and you’re going to save them onto your computer. Okay. I also like to use hautestock. So if you haven’t seen it, I have an affiliate link cause I’m obsessed with them. It’s what I use. It’s all my girl boss graphics. It’s just beautiful. Oh my word. So it’s a membership you have to pay for it. But I mean their stuff is so cute. So I use that. You can get 21 free stock photos. There you go. But I use that. What I want to infuse some of that kind of mompreneur girl boss stuff into my backdrops so you can check out Unsplash or you can check out Hautestock. Okay. Then what we’re gonna do is we’re gonna let me see the best way to do this. Okay. Let me take a picture of this. Hold on one second. I’m trying to think of a little delay here. So this might work. Yeah.
Okay. So I’m going to take a picture real quick and then I’m going to show you where you need to adjust the settings. Okay.
All right. So we’re going to share my screen again. Let’s see if we can magically do this. I hope this works for you to see it. Okay. So I’m going to pull this up. If you can see this right here. So right here where it says stop video. If you’re in, by the way, I’m using zoom to do this. I didn’t mention that zoom is free. I’m to maybe 40 minutes or something. I have the paid version cause I use it all the time. I think it’s well worth it. So where it says stop video, there’s an arrow right next to it and it says choose virtual backdrop, background or backdrop. And that’s it. Virtual background. That is literally it. You just add the image and boom, I think it’s magic. Oh you need good lighting too. You need good lighting. So that’s also in the survival guide.
You’re going to see that in the link below. It’s a survival guide. You’re going to see the lighting that I recommend as well. You can see have really great lighting here. Ring lights and you can actually see a little square reflection. Because of my glasses, I don’t like the ring light didn’t work for me because it was showing in my glasses and it was bothering me. So the ones I have are much more soft and just it works anyways, so you can grab those in the survival guide. So you need good lighting. And then how do you take pictures? So what I do is I have a snipping tool, which is what I just used to show you, where to find the virtual background setting on zoom. It’s called snipping tool. It’s free. I put it on a delay, I put it in a three second delay. What I do is at the end you see my thumbnails, which I, I showed a another video on how to make those thumbnails go check that if you didn’t. So what I do is I smile. So I put the timer on with three seconds delay snipping tools, and then I smile in front of my backdrop. Then the snipping tool here, we’ll do it right now, the snipping tool. We’ll take a picture for us. Okay. So we’re going to all smile together. You ready for this?
So then what I could do, so then I’m going to crop it. So the snipping tool is going to take a, I’ll show it to you really quick so you can see it. Isn’t this fun just showing you all this cool stuff. It is going to look at how fun that is. I mean, seriously, this could be your holiday card and nobody would even know. Now that we want to be deceitful, but it’s just kind of fun. So dream board. There you go. You can use this for your dream board. Why did I not ever think of that? I’m seriously going to put my picture of me up in the mountain, like climbing up there. So then what we do is we pop that baby into words, words or whatever. So I’ll try to remember to put a, if you look, there should be a thumbnail thumbnail link.
Uh, I hope I can remember. I’ll try, but I’ll show you how to create the thumbnails that have some texts on it. Just look really good at the cover of your YouTube photos in your Facebook. But anyways, that’s it. I mean, how fun is that? It just looks awesome. It’s just stands out right? And it’s so cheap. It’s pretty much free. So I want you to try it. I want you to check it out.
