Hey Kimberly Olson here. Welcome back for another episode of hashtag get lit where we crush your business in less than 10 minutes. And in this episode we are going to talk about what you need to stop doing on social media. If you want to make a lot of money, I’m going to give you five of my secret weapons that have helped me hit multiple six figures in many different categories. And you can do this and more. Once you learn these simple strategies, stay tuned.

Now when we go through these, you might say, Oh, that’s so obvious, but you have to challenge yourself and ask yourself, am I doing these things? Like be honest with yourself because it’s not going to serve you if you just keep it in your head in the sand. We want to make sure you get the results that you want in your business. Number one is you need to stop spamming. I got to tell ya, and I gotta say it, spamming and being spamela Pamela is so 2019 no one does it anymore. And if people are teaching you to do it, I want you to ask yourself how attractive is that? If you want to bring people onto your team or you want to grow, maybe a coaching business, people do not want to go around the spammy people. They don’t want to cold message people.

And if you look, whenever you’re posting anything on your feed, whether it’s Instagram or Facebook, you’re getting crickets. When you do that. If you say kudos for the month or join my team now and you can get started for $0, like that doesn’t work anymore. It used to work a decade ago, but it doesn’t work anymore. So instead you want to focus on adding value and making sure you’re serving your audience. Okay, so first off, ditch the Spamming. Number two is you have to stop being inconsistent. Consistency is queen, content is King, consistency is queen or it’s the other way around, but it doesn’t matter. You need both and you need to be consistent. When I look back and I ask myself, what did I do to get the traction I got on building on social media, I was working full time, I was commuting a couple of hours a day.

My babies were in diapers and my husband worked all the time. And when I think about it, it was because I was consistent. I started doing live video in the fall of 2017 and I’ve never missed a week. And when you’re consistent, you start to gain traction. You start to get a loyal audience, you build up your know, like and trust factor, and people start to expect you to show up and they start following you. And that’s the name of the game. So be consistent. My best advice to you is to plan out your week with a Trello board of some sort and make sure you have a set day and time for your video marketing. Number three, is you are confusing your audience. So if you have a product that helps everyone and you’re trying to help everyone, you’re not going to help anyone.

Or if you’re the girl who cried network marketing and you’ve been with 15 different companies and you’re trying to promote four of them right now, that’s confusing. When you focus and you pick one thing to become known for, everything is built around that. So let’s say you’re in a health and wellness company, then you want to focus on adding value when it comes to health and wellness. You could have health and wellness Facebook group, you could have challenges in there with fitness and clean eating or whatever. And then when you’re doing Facebook videos or YouTube videos, you want them to be centered around helping people live an active and healthy lifestyle. So you become the obvious choice when they’re ready to order or if they want to join your team. So be known for something. If you’re trying to do all the things and learn all the things and talk about all of the things all the time, you’re not going to be known for every anything.

You’re just going to be really confusing to your audience and they’re not going to follow you. People want to be led by someone competent and someone who has posture. And the best way you can do that is to get narrow, narrow focus and laser focus on what you want to represent, who you want to serve and just pour into that and grow that. And so if I asked your audience right now, okay, you know, you’re watching right now. And I said, Hey, tell me about so-and-so. And they should be able to rattle off for me, my nickname’s, the Goal Digger Girl, people know I’m all about crushing goals, I’m helping people just look, just get fired up, go after it, make it happen. I’m very action oriented and I give people step by step, simple strategies to take action and get results. That’s what I’m known for.

I have a lot of skill sets, a lot of things in my arsenal, but I’m not teaching all of those different things. Like you know, I know Spanish and I’m a piano player and I’m a nutritionist and you know I have kiddos so I know a lot of stuff about mommy and organizing a family. I’m also, you know, I undergrad in business management, marketing. I know a lot about finances and spreadsheets and Excel. Like I’m not teaching all of that. I’m just teaching one thing and everything is centered around that. Okay. Hope that makes sense. Number four is you need to stop being afraid of being vulnerable. This was a hard one for me. I really struggled with this, I think because I was afraid that people would realize I wasn’t perfect. I’m not really sure what it was. I also would say that feeling vulnerable also makes you have to look yourself in the eye and say, I am valuable.

I am worthy. I have things to offer. I can help people. And when you can hide behind, you know, your kids’ pictures or sharing other people’s content and not yourself, you know, if you’re not posting a lot of selfies, that’s a clue, then it’s easier. So it’s harder to be vulnerable. But you will really find your people and you’re gonna find your tribe and you’re gonna find your prospects and your leads by being vulnerable. Well, because they will love it. As people love to know who you really are. They also want to know that you struggle just like they do it. It’s not you complaining about your life, it’s you sharing the success or at least the journey and taking them along the journey. So if you think of one thing from this training, it’s be consistent, but also it’s to be yourself, be yourself and don’t be afraid to show who you are.

I want to see more selfies. Bottom line. Okay. I want to see your face on video. Bottom line, really important. Number five is the, another mistake I see is that people are just taking, they’re just taking, it’s one way they are posting on social media and wanting people to come in on their stuff. They’re posting in their stories. They are doing live video, they’re posting on YouTube, they’re just taking, they’re not going to other people’s profiles and loving their page and their stories and they’re not getting on other people’s lives or sending messages out to other people. They’re just reacting to what’s in their notifications and in their inbox and Facebook and Instagram and actually Instagram’s getting really cracking down on this. They don’t like that. They want social interaction. They want people to be exchanging and loving on each other’s stuff, social, right, social media, and it’s also going to help you.

So on Facebook you can, you have a see first list and you can pick up to 25 or 30 people that will automatically, you will see them first. You can also make a friends list on Facebook. Look, I will teach you how to do that. I’ll make a note. We’ll make that an upcoming video of how to create a friends list. It’s gold. Oh my word. I thought they took it away the other day and I almost had a heart attack. See friends list. I’ll do a training on that. It’s so good. You can literally group up like my prospects for the month and then you click it and you just see their posts on Facebook. Or you can put my team. Just your customers, your team. I mean it’s awesome. So I’ll teach you how to do that in an upcoming episode. But in the meantime, I want you to love on other people’s stuff.

If someone comments on your Instagram, go to their page and comment on their Instagram profile. If they view your stories, go check out their stories. That’s the easiest way to get started with this is just reciprocate and it will come back tenfold. It’ll help your social media and those people will really get connected to you quickly because you’re showing them love and you’re going to stand out because most people don’t do that. So those are my five tips. A little bonus tip is to mentor and offer value. So whenever you have an opportunity, send an article to someone, tag them in a video, shoot them a link to something, maybe a training, you did something you learned, a podcast, you’re listening to a book you’re loving when it comes up in conversation and it makes sense. Share that with them and they without any strings attached that will seriously go so far with building up that relationship.

All right, so I want you to subscribe to my channel. Click the button to subscribe. You can also hit the bell to get notified. I have new videos every single week like this video and comment below with your favorite takeaway. Was it stop spamming, stop being inconsistent. Stop confusing your audience, Stop being afraid of being vulnerable. Or was it stopped just taking and creating a one way situation. So I’m gonna wrap this up since my voice is going, thank you so much for watching. Until next time, go out there and get lit in your business and set your soul on fire. I’ll see you later. Bye bye.
